Saptaparna
Performing in Indore
- Indore was truly fabulous, the people were running in for autographs , snaps etc
- I had no clue that so many people would turn up to watch our show and above all would stay till late night and support us in our performance
Being the only girl contender in Top 3
- I am happy and more than me my parents are very happy to see me reach this level
- I just pray that I could meet the expectations of the people who have supported me and reward them by winning the title
- I am working hard to meet the expectations of the people who support specially Ismail ji
- I felt very happy when he said that I had sung the song “tu muskura” better than the original
- There is only a few steps to the finale but there is immense competition and pressure
Mallar’s elimination
- He is a very good singer, but he somehow has not managed to get enough support from the viewers
- I had the feeling that either Mallar or myself would go out
- I was happy that I got enough votes and was not eliminated

Saptaparna
Performing in Ahmadabad
- The experience was never the less a good one
- I never felt that I was performing in front unknown people , it was as if I was performing at home
- I enjoyed a lot , Ahmadabad audience is really good
Becoming a performer
- Earlier I was a little shy to perform when I was singing , I normally used to stand at one place and sing
- Slowly I have transformed myself into a performer
- Now people tell me that I have changed a lot from my initial days at VOI
Ritisha’s elimination
- I had a feeling that I would be voted out this time
- Ritisha had usually got good votes but the voting was based on her previous performance in which she had not sung too well
- It was a little depressing for me because she is also a good friend of mine

Mumbai attacks
- I really don’t know how to react in this
- I just want these things to end for ever
- We are a peace loving people and we do not want such incidents to happen in our country or at any other place

- This is a very panicky situation for the entire nation
- We all will stand by it and help each other come out of it in this tough situation

What is the best compliment that you have received from a celebrity on VOI?
- when Tushaar Kapoor complimented that I had better than the original , it was a compliment worth my efforts so far in VOI
- apart from this when Masumeh had come on our show, I enjoyed dancing with her on stage
When did you experience fame and popularity?
- Whenever we go for our events in other cities we really can’t believe the people yelling our names or dancing and jumping on our songs
- It was an amazing experience to perform Specially in Lucknow and Nagpur
What has been most challenging for you in VOI so far?
- I do not compete with anyone except myself
- So for me , meeting my own expectations in every performance in VOI has been a challenge

Saptaparna
Playing the role of Sattar Singh
- It was an amazing experience to play the of Sattar singh and be dressed as a boy
- The thing that I liked the most was flirting with Urmila Matondkar
- I never believed that being a girl I could have ever flirted with another girl.
Preparations
- At first when I got to know that I have to play the role of a boy, I was a little scared.
- Then I started thinking how a boy behaves speaks and all.
- I even practiced in front of the mirror by changing my voice. Now when I recall it, I have nothing but top smile at the event.
What if, you were a boy in real life?
- I was a Tom boy in my school days .my friends used to take my help when someone used to bully them.
- More or less I imagined my school days of what I was and portrayed the same in my act.
- I think if I had been a boy, my life would have been better.
- It’s not that I am not happy with my life or with what I am today. it’s an internal feeling that I have since childhood
Zakir’s elimination
- As a viewer I feel bad for him.
- He had improved a lot in the past few days. Every one knows he sings from his heart and people do like him as a person and as a singer.
- I don’t know what went wrong and why did people did not vote for him
- At the same time as a contestant I cannot really deny this because someone has to go.

Happiest moment in VOI
- I felt really proud and happy when Ismail ji named me “Roshni”
Embarrassing moment in VOI
- Rohit‘s elimination was bad. I don’t know the reason but on that day I really felt embarrassed.
If given a chance whom would you eliminate?
- Ritisha and Zakir were not too good singers earlier. Now the things are different , even they have improved and it is difficult to say whom to eliminate

Format change
- I m not happy with the format change………. We have worked so hard for these months and if a change was to happen, it should have happened in the initial stages
- I feel that the others should not get another chance …..Among the three I feel Vipul still deserves to be in the top level …but Zakir somehow is the most undeserving one to be placed in top 6.
On Anjum
- I somehow don’t like the way she cheers only the boys on show……..she is a girl and she should also support us but she never does that….
- It’s not that I m jealous of her supporting the boys but it would have been nice if she could have at least cheered us.
First Crush
- My first crush is a guy from Voice of India – Season 1
Blind Date
- my blind date would be my first crush
Dream
My only dream is to work with A R Rehman

Being at Top 5
- I m happy that I m in the top 5 ……but right now I m very nervous , I don’t know what will happen next ….I m not scared of eliminations but I don’t want to loose after coming so far.
Performing in different cities
- it’s a big platform that we have got to perform live in front of our fans in different cities
- my best show was at Anand(Ahmedabad)…it is great feeling to perform live
- once a little girl walked to me and wanted to take my pic……..I could not believe it ……..my life has changed so quickly from an ordinary person to a VOI contestant
Top contender
- According to the votes finalists could be Ravi or Ritisha
- But the rightful winner of VOI is Vipul or Rohit

- On Anoushka’s entry –Anoushka is a playback singer, someone who is already a name in the industry. We are still struggling in this talent hunt. Her coming on the show was a jolt to us but this is all a part of the game- so I guess we should take it in good spirit and do our best!
- On having Ismail as Guru – I am really happy to be under his guidance. He expects a lot from me and has even named me Roshni. I know that I will grow under his guidance…
- On being Ismail’s favourite – It feels good to be someone’s favourite singer. I wont take names but there are a few in the show who tell me that I have nothing to worry about when it comes to performance because Ismailji favours me. Taane maarte hain. I feel hurt… Do I not deserve it? He must have liked something about my singing.
- On Janta being the Ultimate Judge – We sing for people. Everyone who has made it big in this industry, be it Sonu Niigaam, Shaan Dada, Sunidhi Chauhan or Shreya, owes it to the people. It is the toughest thing to win people’s heart. And its going to be a challenge to make them vote for me.
- On Navratri – This is the first time I am going to be away from home during Durga Puja. I am really sad about it- Ghar ki yaad aa rahi hai. Since we are busy in shoot and recordings; I haven’t really managed to get the feel of Navratri. I plan to visit some pandals this time.
- Weakest singer in the Top 6 – Rithisha a great singer, I think that she is better than all of us but I feel that something is restraining her from performing on stage. I think she is not even giving her 2% on stage and I don’t know what is bothering her.

Roshni - It feels good to be given the name- Roshni by a famous music composer like Ismailji. I have worked very hard for reaching so far in VOI and it is nice that Ismailji saw this hard work in me. In the future I hope to give my 200% so as to meet his expectations .
On Performance - Sometimes I ‘ m not able to give my 100% on stage and it mostly because of the pressure I face while performing. But I am trying to overcome my fear.
Views on Marriage- I’m the only daughter of my parents , I love my parents a lot and it would be difficult to leave my parents and get married . Even my parents cant live without me. Now I ‘ m away from my mother for the show but every half hour I get a call from my parents. It seems that they are sitting next to me all the time
Weakest Participant - I feel that Zakir is the weakest participant. I think his coming up to the Top 6 itself is a big deal.
